Bothwell and Uddingston Rotary Club
held their annual Christmas Parade on Friday 11th December.
Despite the freezing cold weather, a large crowd turned out to see Santas
Sleigh, led by Uddingston Strathclyde Pipe Band, drive through the village en
route to the Parish Church, where he handed out selection boxes that were
donated by the Rotary Club to the children.
At the church, the Bothwell Philharmonic Choir was joined by the Bellshill
Salvation Army Band as they sang Christmas Carols and entertained the crowd
even involving the children in a rendition of Jingle Bells. In the grounds
Brighter Bothwell also had some stalls selling hot dogs and mulled wine.
Throughout the Parade the Rotary Club were collecting for St Andrews
hospice, Childrens Hospice Association Scotland (CHAS) and other Rotary
Charities.
