The Hub

The HUB FAQ

How long have you been running for?
The HUB was established in August 2009

Why did you decide to launch a newspaper?
We noticed a significant gap in the marketing for covering positive community based news and wanted to offer an alternative to the doom and gloom of other regional publications.

What does The HUB stand for?
Originally The HUB was short for The Heart of Uddingston and Bothwell. However, with the impressive positive feedback from our first few issues, we decided to roll out across the wider area of Lanarkshire and are now known only as The HUB.

Where is your newspaper distributed?
We are delivered free of charge to 20,000 homes across Uddingston, Bothwell, Blantyre, Viewpark and Tannochside.

I live in the towns above, but I still don’t receive a copy – why is that?
We would love to cover every home in every town, however as a new business and with money being tight, we can only print off so many copies. As we take on new advertisers, this additional revenue will allow us to cover more area’s within these towns – so expect a copy to be landing on your doorstep in the coming months.

Where else can I pick up a copy in the meantime?
The HUB is available for pickup in various Supermarkets, Cafes and Libraries across North and South Lanarkshire. A list of stores stocking The HUB will be available shortly.

How many readers do you have?
We have over 64,000 readers
